Wrexham have a chance to go second in the table this week when they take on Huddersfield, and you can watch all the action unfold live.

Last time out, Wrexham played out a 0-0 draw at the Racecourse Ground with Bolton Wanderers.

The point may be a slightly disappointing one, but it did move the Red Dragons to within two points of second-placed Wycombe Wanderers in the League One table, who lost to Birmingham City at the weekend.

There’s still work to be done for Wrexham, but they have the perfect opportunity to step up their game when they take on fellow promotion hopefuls Huddersfield Town in midweek..

Now, thanks to The Wrexham Insider, you can find out how to watch the match, which players are unavailable, and what the head-to-head record between the two teams is like.

Wrexham team news

We’ve already laid out our Wrexham predicted XI to face Huddersfield, and it takes into account the few injuries Phil Parkinson has to deal with right now.

Truth be told, the Wrexham squad is looking pretty good at the moment, with only one serious issue in that Andy Cannon suffered an ACL injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, Callum Burton, Will Boyle, and Luke Bolton continue to be unavailable and will be for a while.

Wrexham and Huddersfield head-to-head record

Interestingly, Wrexham and Huddersfield have only faced each other 21 times in their history, and it is the Terriers who dominate this fixture with 11 wins from those meetings. Wrexham have won just four games, with six draws to boot.

The two sides played out a 0-0 draw earlier in the season, a result Michael Duff was happy with at the time given Wrexham’s prolificacy in front of goal. That might be a different story now, given home advantage and Wrexham’s struggles in attack.

You have to go back to 2004 for Wrexham’s last win against Huddersfield, a 2-1 win at the Kirklees, and that was the last time the Red Dragons were in League One.

Huddersfield vs Wrexham prediction

This will be a tough one for Wrexham, going away to a team who are very inconsistent and unpredictable, and who have a lot to fight for as they look to lock in a play-off spot this season.

If Parkinson can get the best out of Sam Smith, Wrexham should steal a win but it will be a very tight game, and we expect a 2-1 win to the Red Dragons.

Don’t be surprised to see the two teams share the spoils, though. A 1-1 draw could well be on the cards if Wrexham can’t find their shooting boots.
