This week sees Wrexham travel to face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park with a place in the FA Cup fifth round up for grabs. Here is our predicted XI…

This season has been overly positive for Wrexham which has seen them take to life back in the EFL extremely well.

With Phil Parkinson at the helm, the Reds have risen up the League Two table and now occupy second place.

Last time out, a defeat to rivals, Newport County did dampen the spirits somewhat but now there is the perfect distraction.

For the second season on the bounce, Wrexham are in the fourth round of the FA Cup against Championship opposition. Last time out they forced a replay against eventually promoted Sheffield United.

Now the Reds travel to face a faltering Blackburn side and now let’s take a look at our predicted XI for the clash…

Wrexham Predicted XI

As always at the moment, there is only one name who will start between the sticks for Wrexham in this predicted XI. Arthur Okonkwo is going to retake his spot in goal and look to keep another FA Cup clean sheet.

Given the strength of the opposition, Parkinson will surely opt for the best possible backline that is available to him. This should see Ben Tozer and Max Cleworth maintain their spot in the Reds’ starting XI. On the left side of the back three, we suggest that Eoghan O’Connell will make a starting return after coming on against Newport County.

In the wing-back roles, there is at least one easy pick in our predicted XI. On the left-hand side, James McClean will keep his spot flying down the flank. On the right-hand side, it is a toss-up between Ryan Barnett and the returning Jacob Mendy. Given that Mendy has only been filling in there, we suggest that Barnett will retake his place.

Given the injury to Andy Cannon, the midfield all but selects itself for our predicted XI. George Evans and Elliot Lee will keep their places that is for certain. Alongside them, we suggest that James Jones will keep his starting role.

Up front, there is one certain and that is Paul Mullin. He is the king of the FA Cup and he will stay in the striker role. Alongside him, we suggest for our predicted XI that Ollie Palmer will make his starting return from injury against Rovers.
