Wrexham will be aiming to extend their current winning streak to four games when they travel to face Cambridge United in midweek.
Phil Parkinson’s team have been in impressive form in recent weeks, beating promotion rivals Wycombe Wanderers, Stockport County and Exeter City in succession.
The latter, and most recent, of the wins against Exeter was one of the more impressive results Wrexham have managed in the second half of the 2024/25 season. Exeter had gone into the game at St James Park on a six-game unbeaten run before goals from Jay Rodriguez and Ollie Rathbone sealed a 2-0 victory for Wrexham.
This run of results has seen the Welsh outfit take a three point lead over Wycombe in the race to secure the final automatic promotion place, however Wycombe do still have one game in hand to play before the end of the season.
In order to keep the pressure on Wycombe, Wrexham will be aiming to take all three points once again on Tuesday April 1 when they travel to Cledara Abbey Stadium to take on a struggling Cambridge United outfit.
Cambridge are currently sitting in 23rd place in the League One table, a worrying 11 points adrift of safety.
Here’s the team Wrexham will likely field in order to rack up another three points.
Wrexham team news vs Cambridge
Parkinson will be relieved to know that there’s no fresh injury concerns to deal with heading into the game on Tuesday evening.

The controversy around Parkinson’s expected team selection will likely once again revolve around the absence of Paul Mullin from the matchday squad. The striker has been left out of the last seven squads, with fans being notably furious about the treatment of Mullin.
Wrexham predicted lineup vs Cambridge United
Having won their last few games on the spin, despite a busy fixture schedule Wrexham boss Parkinson will almost certainly be tempted to name an unchanged starting lineup against Cambridge.
With that in mind, here’s how fans should expect Wrexham to line-up:
GK: Arthur Okonkwo – Fresh off the back of his 15th clean sheet of the season, Okonkwo is rightfully the first name on Wrexham’s teamsheet.
CB: Max Cleworth – No Wrexham player has played more games than the 22-year-old this season. Cleworth has been both a defensive rock and offensive threat throughout 2024/25, scoring eight goals.
CB: Eoghan O’Connell – The Irish defender has started the last 12 games for Wrexham, captaining the side on four occasions in that period.
CB: Lewis Brunt – One of the summer 2024 signings, Brunt has come into his own in the second half of the season.
RM: Ryan Longman – The January signing from Hull City has seemingly displaced Ryan Bennett on the right-hand side of the Wrexham team, and he may be hard to drop again given his string of impressive outings.
CM: George Dobson – No Wrexham player has won more tackles in League One than Dobson this season. He’s an integral member of the club’s midfield.
CM: Matty James – The veteran 33-year-old has proven to be a shrewd free agent signing by Parkinson.
CM: Ollie Rathbone – Scored his sixth goal of the season against Exeter City at the weekend, and has more than proven himself to be the signing of the campaign for Wrexham.
LM: James McClean – The former Republic of Ireland star and Wrexham’s club captain, McClean has continued to be a thorn in the side of League One teams throughout this campaign. He bagged an assist in the 2-0 win over Exeter.

ST: Jay Rodriguez – After a slow start to life at Wrexham, Rodriguez has finally found his feet in recent weeks. The forward has now scored two in his last two, and Waynne Phillips has backed Rodriguez to score a few more before the end of the season.
ST: Sam Smith – The club-record signing has scored three since making the move to Wrexham, including a crucial goal against Wycombe Wanderers recently.
