Wrexham face a huge week in their push for promotion as they host league leaders Birmingham City and Stevenage Town.
Wrexham will be desperate to get their season back on track following a disappointing 2-1 defeat at rivals Shrewsbury Town, where defender Eoghan O’Connell endured a nightmare evening.
Phil Parkinson is looking to add to his squad before the transfer deadline passes and Wrexham are close to signing Ryan Longman from Hull City in a deal with £500k.
Wrexham are desperate for a striker this month too and have been linked with a host of targets that have come and gone. One target in particular, gave a glimpse of what could have been with a sensational goal on his home debut for his new club.

Joe Gelhardt scores on Hull City home debut
Wrexham were frustrated at losing out on signing Joe Gelhardt as the striker chose to join Championship outfit Hull City on loan from Leeds United.
Gelhardt had made just two appearances for Leeds this season and was thought to be a smart addition to the Wrexham frontline with his youthful energy and athleticism a perfect foil for Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin.
On his home debut against Queens Park Rangers, Gelhardt showed Wrexham and their fans exactly what they have missed out with a sensational strike that Sky Sports commentator Matt Murray described as a finish ‘Wayne Rooney would have been proud of.’
With the team struggling for goals and Parkinson desperate to improve Wrexham’s away form, Gelhardt certainly seems to fall under the bracket of ‘one that got away’ with moments of quality such as that strike.
Former Wrexham striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson scores for Burton Albion
Another Wrexham striker connection was also on target in the latest set of fixtures as Jon Dadi Bodvarsson found the net in Burton Albion’s win over Wigan Athletic.
Parkinson couldn’t guarantee Bodvarsson game time at Wrexham and therefore allowed the striker to join Burton having made just seven appearances for the club this season.
Wrexham are still on the hunt for a new striker but will be hoping that the return of Jack Marriott to the squad will begin to ease the Red Dragon’s struggle for goals.
It is a huge period for Parkinson’s side, as their quest for promotion to the Championship hangs in the balance.
