Wrexham take on Queens Park Rangers this weekend as Phil Parkinson considers unleashing his new signings.

Wrexham fans can finally start to look forward to Championship action once again.

The international break came at a frustrating time, as Wrexham had beaten Millwall 2-0 to bag a first Championship victory.

Phil Parkinson’s attention turned to deadline day after that win, but he can now look forward to facing Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Wrexham made three deadline day signings, with Ben Sheaf, Issa Kabore and Dominic Hyam all in contention to play against QPR.

Former Wrexham target Richard Kone set to line up for QPR

Parkinson will weigh up their involvement in the coming days, especially with Kabore on international duty with Burkina Faso.

QPR head to the STōK Cae Ras after an unconvincing start to the season, including a 7-1 thrashing at Coventry City.

The R’s beat Charlton Athletic 3-1 last time out, with former Wrexham target Richard Kone on the scoresheet again.

Reports over the summer suggested that Wrexham were interested in signing Kone from former League One promotion rivals Wycombe Wanderers.

Kone smashed 18 League One goals last season and caught the eye as the Chairboys lost out to Wrexham in the race for second place.

Wrexham are thought to have made contact to sign Kone, but he instead completed a potential £5million move to QPR.

The deal sees QPR pay £2.75million for Kone, with a further £2.25million payable in add-ons.

Kone has already managed two goals in just 155 minutes of Championship action for QPR, showing signs of taking his League One form into the second tier.

The Ivorian is bound to play a part for QPR this weekend, and Parkinson will be well aware of the trouble he could cause at the STōK Cae Ras.

Kone scored for Wycombe against Wrexham last season, and he must be tightly-marked on Saturday if Parkinson is to avoid watching a repeat performance.

Predicted Queens Park Rangers line-up v Wrexham

R’s boss Julien Stephan will surely stick with the same side which beat Charlton last time out, especially after losing 7-1 to Coventry in the previous game.

If Stephan goes with the same line-up, then goalkeeper Joe Walsh will start again, behind the centre-back pairing of Liam Morrison and Amadou Mbengue.

Joe Dunne would then start at right-back, with Welshman Rhys Norrington-Davies on the left side of defence.

Nicolas Madsen and Jonathan Varane would form the base of the midfield, with Harvey Vale deployed as a number 10.

The one change from the starting XI could come on the left flank after Rayan Kolli replaced Paul Smyth at half-time against Charlton.

Karamoko Dembele would then feature on the right flank, with Kone leading the line in attack.

Predicted QPR line-up v Wrexham: Walsh; Dunne, Morrison, Mbengue, Norrington-Davies; Madsen, Varane; Dembele, Vale, Kolli; Kone.
