Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have been owners of Wrexham for just over four years now.
Rob McElhenney was inspired to buy Wrexham after he, along with Humphrey Ker, watched the ‘Sunderland Till I Die’ documentary series on Netlifx.
The Always Sunny star then turned to fellow Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds to help fund the club.
In February 2021, the duo successfully purchased Wrexham from the Supporters’ Trust.
Their first few months in charge did not go to plan, seeing Dean Keates sacked after the club missed out on the National League play-offs during the final day of the 2020/21 campaign.
In turn, Phil Parkinson was installed in the dugout, and Paul Mullin was signed along with nine more players in the summer of 2021 to try and mount a proper promotion push.

What Ryan Reynolds said after attending first Wrexham home match
After an eight-month spell as co-owners, Reynolds and McElhenney attended their first game at the Racecourse Ground on October 26th, 2021.
Wrexham faced off with Maidenhead and suffered a 3-2 defeat after Bryce Hosannah was sent off in the first 45.
Mullin and Jordan Davies were the goal-scorers for the home outfit in the clash, and following the tie, Rob and Ryan shared their verdicts.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Reynolds labelled it ‘absolute torture’ but also ‘exciting’.
He said: “Being at a football like that and being invested as we are was absolute torture. I loved every second of it, but it certainly had its moments of agony.
“Normally I’m only heckled in my home, so this was sort of new for me and sort of weirdly thrilling.
“I loved watching the club out there, for a moment there it was pretty —- exciting. It felt like they showed their stuff, particularly in the second half.
“I just can’t wait for Saturday, it’s going to be exciting.”
What happened last time Ryan Reynolds watched Wrexham live
Rob and Ryan have continued to visit the club during its meteoric rise up the EFL.
Now sitting in League One, McElhenney watched Wrexham lose 3-1 to Birmingham City earlier in the 2024/25 season.
More recently, Reynolds attended the clash with Cambridge United at the Racecourse alongside Channing Tatum on December 14th.
The Red Dragons looked set to secure a 2-1 win that meeting, but an 89th-minute penalty from Dan Nlundulu forced the home outfit to settle for a share of the points.
