Wrexham have been in superb form in League One as Phil Parkinson continues to chase a third straight promotion.

Wrexham continue to impress in League One after picking up all three points at Burton Albion on Saturday.

Storm Darragh brought testing condition but Wrexham came through it with all three points and a clean sheet.

Elliot Lee’s winner impressed Wrexham fans as his swirling corner found its way into the back of the net.

That is four league wins in a row for Wrexham without even conceding a single goal.

Wrexham have moved level on points with Wycombe Wanderers at the top of League One and are right in the mix for promotion.

Ex-Wales international on Wrexham

Wrexham are a force to be reckoned with this season.

Phil Parkinson has now won 200 home points at Wrexham and few teams will fancy a trip to the STōK Cae Ras this season.

Ryan Reynolds wants another promotion this season and with Wrexham going at more than two points a game at the moment, his hopes may well come true.

Parkinson deserves huge praise for how he continues to take Wrexham forward and the side’s progress has now been praised by former Wales international Iwan Roberts.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Roberts suggested that Wrexham’s win should have been a little more comfortable against Burton Albion.

Still, Roberts was impressed with how Wrexham fared in ‘difficult circumstances’ and praised Parkinson’s side for grinding out results.

Roberts added that Wrexham are ‘absolutely flying’ and praised the clean sheet record of 12 in 19 League One outings this season.

“It should have been a more comfortable win,” said Roberts. “But they’re absolutely flying. It was their fourth consecutive win without conceding, it’s 12 clean sheets in 19 games for Wrexham.

“They’ve closed the gap to Wycombe with Birmingham just behind them. It was just a case of getting the job done on Saturday and that’s what happened.

“Four of their last five wins have been by the same scoreline, by 1-0, so they know how to grind it out and get these important results in difficult circumstances,” he added.

Wrexham clean sheet record even more impressive due to injuries

12 clean sheets in 19 games is a record and many would be proud of but Parkinson will feel especially delighted.

It’s one thing to keen clean sheets with arguably League One’s finest goalkeeper between the sticks in Arthur Okonkwo.

Okonkwo is now out injured though and his replacement Callum Burton has also picked up an injury blow.

Burton could be out for the season, meaning veteran Mark Howard is now being relied upon in goal.

Wrexham even kept a clean sheet in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night with new signing Brad Foster impressing.

To keep this many clean sheets despite a rotating cast of goalkeepers is huge impressive and suggests that it’s something Wrexham can really rely on for the full campaign.
