Paul Mullin has looked a shadow of his former self since returning to League One with Wrexham.
Paul Mullin joined Wrexham in 2022, leaving League One outfit Cambridge United on a free transfer to link up with the then-National League side.
The Red Dragons have been very smart in how they have recruited players since being bought by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
The Hollywood owners helped Phil Parkinson build a team that, even while they were still playing in the National League, could compete in League One.
This transfer strategy has worked wonders, with Wrexham now battling it out at the top end of the third tier following their latest promotion earlier this year.
However, it is fair to say that Mullin has been far from his best since making the step back up to League One.

Damning Paul Mullin data emerges ahead of Wrexham vs Exeter City
Mullin underwent surgery over the summer and missed the club’s pre-season preparations as a result.
However, the 30-year-old returned to action in September and two months later, is still seriously out of form.
Phil Parkinson has been urged to replace Mullin in January amid his lack of goals – scoring just one in 13 League One appearances so far.
It has since been revealed that Wrexham are in the market for a striker going into the winter window, which will come as a big relief to fans, especially when looking at some rather concerning data regarding Mullin.
As per Sofascore, when looking at players with a minimum number of appearances who have scored at least one goal in 2024/25, Mullin ranks third-bottom of every player in League One for goal conversion percentage.
| Player | Goal conversion % |
| Ronan Darcy | 2.5 % |
| Robert Apter | 3.45 % |
| Paul Mullin | 3.85 % |
| Sam Hoskins | 4.35 % |

What Phil Parkinson said about Paul Mullin Wrexham form
Mullin was dropped when Wrexham lost to Stockport County last weekend.
He came off the bench in the second half but missed another big chance that could have recused his side a point.
However, Parkinson is continuing to keep the faith with Mullin despite his inability to find the net.
The Wrexham manager recently revealed, as per the Men In Blazers podcast, what he has told the forward amid his struggles.
He said: “I had a good chat with Paul. I said that we need to make sure that we’re not putting massive expectations on him. He’s had a serious operation in the summer, missing not just the pre-season, but the whole of the off-season as well.
”He was a long way behind the other lads, but I put him back on the bench quickly. That doesn’t mean he was really match-ready. He’s getting opportunities, and Paul is great. He doesn’t let things affect him when he doesn’t take those as he knows there’s another chance coming round the corner.
“The life of a goal scorer is such that at times it doesn’t go your way, but it’s making sure those dips don’t last too long, and he’ll come through that.”
