Matt Jansen has been discussing the positive impact of Ryan Reynolds, Rob Mac, and Tom Brady becoming involved with Wrexham and Birmingham City.
Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds bought Wrexham from the club’s Supporters Trust in 2021 for £2m.
Elsewhere, NFL icon Tom Brady became a minority owner of Birmingham City in 2023.
The two EFL outfits have since formed a media-driven rivalry dubbed the ‘Hollywood Derby’.
While the coverage of Wrexham and Birmingham’s meetings can sometimes be a little much, Matt Jansen believes the arrivals of Rob, Ryan and Brady have been positive for football.

Celebrity investment in Wrexham and Birmingham City praised
Jansen spoke to GOAL about Wrexham and Birmingham’s owners, highlighting the sizable audience big names like Reynolds and Mac are able to attract.
He said: “I think it is good for the game. It brings a wider audience. As long as it doesn’t take the focus off the football and the football stays at a high quality, it’s just making the game more widespread.
“I think it’s good. It makes it really interesting. I think everybody secretly has a look for Wrexham’s results because of it, and Birmingham’s as well. It’s interesting and really good for the game.”
It’s hard to argue with Jansen’s assessment, especially in the case of Rob and Ryan’s club.
Welcome to Wrexham has a worldwide audience with millions of people tuning in from around the world to watch every episode.
Fans from around the globe visit the Racecourse Ground and The Turf pub after watching the Dragons’ rapid rise up the EFL.
Wrexham are now in the Championship for the first time in 43 years, and as their expansion continues, the actors want more investors to join them in North Wales.

Billionaires have already contacted Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac to invest in Wrexham
Humphrey Ker revealed earlier this year that dozens of billionaires have contacted Reynolds and Mac about becoming a part of the project.
It was then reported that the North American duo are looking to sell a stake in Wrexham at a valuation of £350m.
The Allyn family have already come on board, but as Ker pointed out previously, running a Championship club with goals of reaching the Premier League is like lighting money on fire.
When discussing Wrexham’s chances of reaching the top flight, he said: “Then I think what happens is that Rob and Ryan go into their Rolodex and call up one of the dozens and dozens of people who’ve got in touch within the last four years and been like ‘hi I’m a multi, multi, multi billionaire, I want to join in on this with you’.
“They would stay on, remain in their roles, but we would have someone who could help because basically getting out of the Championship to the Premier League, you’re just lighting money.
