Welcome to Wrexham has allowed Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s club to grow a global fanbase.

Rob Mac was inspired by Sunderland and their Netflix series ‘Sunderland Till I Die’.

As a result, it came as little surprise when he, alongside Ryan Reynolds, decided to launch a documentary series following their takeover of Wrexham.

Season 4 of Welcome to Wrexham aired this summer and covered the club’s 2024/25 League One campaign, which ended in promotion to the Championship.

Now, an insight into how many people watch each episode of the show has been provided.

How many people watch Welcome to Wrexham

Reynolds and Mac’s profiles, combined with the documentary, have allowed Wrexham to begin marketing all around the world.

Wrexham have held pre-season tours in North America and Australia over the last three years, and the club’s kits are now sold worldwide.

While having figures as high profile as Mac and Reynolds obviously helped grow interest in the club anyway, their documentary series continues to garner interest four years on from the takeover.

A report from the Financial Times on August 22 has now claimed that each episode of Welcome to Wrexham is watched by around five million people across all platforms.

This success, along with Rob and Ryan’s profiles, the report says, has turned Wrexham into a powerful marketing platform that can attract big brands.

When will Welcome to Wrexham Season 5 air

When Season 4 was still airing, it was confirmed by the club that there will be a Season 5 of Welcome to Wrexham.

An exact release date is yet to be confirmed, though it seems likely that it will start airing shortly after the close of the 2025/26 season.

Reynolds and Mac were spotted filming for Welcome to Wrexham this past weekend when the Dragons faced West Brom at the Racecourse Ground.
