Ryan Reynolds was in attendance as Wrexham lost 3-1 against QPR in the Championship on Saturday.

Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds attended his second Wrexham game of the season on Saturday, but it was another defeat in front of the Deadpool star.

Phil Parkinson’s side are slumped in 21st place of the Championship table with just one win to their name after five games, after Wrexham lost 3-1 against QPR on Saturday afternoon.

Kieffer Moore was on target for the Dragons. But the defence was lacklustre once again and now there will be some serious questions starting to be asked about Parkinson.

Phil Jones attends Wrexham game against QPR

Wrexham’s Racecourse ground has welcomed several Hollywood and celebrity guests since Reynolds and Rob Mac took over in 2021: Hugh Jackman and Will Ferrell to name a couple, and now former England and Manchester United defender Phil Jones has joined the list.

Not quite the A-lister that Reynolds is accustomed to maybe, a picture shared by journalist Nathan Salt on X showed Jones in the executive area, closely behind Reynolds as they watched the QPR game unfold.

Is Phil Jones a free agent and could Wrexham sign him?

Jones is exactly the kind of big name player that Wrexham have been linked to this summer: throughout, Jamie Vardy was linked with Wrexham who even made a phone call to Christian Eriksen to try and tempt him to North Wales.

Neither deal happened, but Wrexham spent £40million on new players nonetheless and signed some big names still.

Whether unfortunately or fortunately for Wrexham fans, Jones is actually retired. Now aged just 33, Jones announced his retirement in August 2024, revealing his ambitions to move into coaching.

For Wrexham then, Jones joining as a coach could be a more realistic option than him coming out of retirement to sign on a free transfer.
