Former Wrexham star announces delight at signing for Championship rival

Wrexham had a busy transfer window in the summer, as several players left the club while 13 new summer signings made their way to North Wales.

Ahead of the new campaign, Wrexham released eight first-team players, those who they deemed surplus to requirements for the Championship, before signing the quality required to battle to remain in the division.

Wrexham fans were upset by the decision to release Steven Fletcher, among other tough decisions.

However, it can be argued that Phil Parkinson now has a stronger squad available to him following Wrexham’s £33 million spend on new signings this summer, after the space was made available as players exited the Racecourse Ground.

One of those to leave the club at the end of their contract this summer was Liam Hall, as he signed for Championship rivals Sheffield United, and he has let his feelings be known on this decision.

Liam Hall ‘delighted’ to join Sheffield United from Wrexham

It was announced that Liam Hall had joined Sheffield United from Wrexham after he had been released from his contract this summer.

The young goalkeeper signed for Wrexham from Bradford Park Avenue in 2023 but left without ever making a first-team appearance for the Dragons.

After an unsuccessful trial with Rotherham United, Hall has joined Sheffield United, signing a pro contract until the end of the 2025/26 season with an option to extend his stay by another year.

Now he has taken to social media to thank Wrexham for his time at the club, as he said: “Delighted to have signed for Sheffield United.

“First of all, I would like to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity and thank you to Wrexham for everything they have done the last 2 years and to Visum Sports for their constant support and belief in me.”

Wrexham have already replaced Liam Hall

Liam Hall did not have a significant impact on the pitch for the Red Dragons, and there was little to no chance of him being a first-team regular for the club after they signed Danny Ward, adding to the quality already there with Arthur Okonkwo.

There are several options already at the club, with Callum Burton now the no. 2 due to the injury to Ward, and there’s also youngster Reuben Egan, who is currently in the Wrexham squad.

However, after a successful trial period, Wrexham are now set to sign Sam Hocking, so this move for Liam Hall seems to be the best for all parties as he looks to make an impact at the Blades.
