Kieffer Moore is Wrexham’s top scorer so far this season, and arguably Phil Parkinson’s most impressive summer signing up to now.

For all the money spent by Wrexham this summer, and for all the high profile names arriving at the Racecourse, it’s Kieffer Moore who looks like the best signing of the lot so far.

Whilst still a big name in the Championship and on the international stage, few would’ve expected the 33-year-old Wales striker to be in such prolific form under Phil Parkinson so quickly.

Already, Moore is Wrexham’s top scorer with four goals in five games in all competitions. During the international break, Moore scored for Wales in their win over Kazakhstan, then sitting out the following game against Canada.

Kieffer Moore expected to feature for Wrexham vs QPR

Moore has been carrying an ankle injury recently which he sustained in the opening game of the season against Southampton. Parkinson said that Moore was still suffering with the injury after Wales’ win over Kazakhstan, but the Wrexham boss has suggested that Moore is fit and ready to get straight back into action against QPR on Saturday.

Speaking to the press ahead of the weekend, Parkinson said: “We had Kieffer back in the building today. A bonus for us that he didn’t play on Tuesday. He played in the qualifier and I thought he was great. I thought he was terrific in that game. Then Craig [Bellamy, Wales manager] changed the team round to look at other players, which he obviously needs to do going forward.

“But that’s a benefit for us, I feel, with Kieffer because he comes back into the building really fresh and ready for the weekend. And obviously, slightly different because he’s a long way away in terms of geographically and he’ll have a rest today when he gets back in and and we’ll see him tomorrow.”

How many goals Kieffer Moore needs at Wrexham to make a career best

Moore has been around for a long time now. In 204 Championship matches in his career he’s scored an impressive 62 goals, and in 50 games for Wales he’s scored another 15 goals.

He’s been in the goals pretty much everywhere he’s played and he’s made a strong start to Wrexham, which could easily end up being the club he scores the most goals for in his career.

Wrexham’s Welsh rivals Cardiff City is the team Moore scored the most goals for, scoring 25, meaning he only needs another 21 goals for Wrexham to match that record.

Whilst 21 goals sounds like a lot, Moore’s start to life at Wrexham suggests he could score that remaining 21 even this season, and with a contract in North Wales 2028, there’s every chance that Moore can follow in the footsteps of names like Paul Mullin in terms of goals.
