Kieffer Moore is the man of the moment at Wrexham, and he continued his fine scoring form with Wales on Thursday.
Kieffer Moore has so far proved to be an inspiring signing for Wrexham. The 33-year-old joined from Sheffield United earlier in the summer and he’s so far scored four in five games for the Dragons.
Going into this month’s international break, Moore was among three Wrexham players called up for Wales, along with fellow summer signings Danny Ward and Nathan Broadhead.
Ward and Broadhead have since returned to the Racecourse with injury. But Moore scored the only goal in Wales’ 1-0 win over Kazakhstan on Thursday afternoon.

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson speaks on Kieffer Moore injury
Moore started up front for Craig Bellamy’s Wales on Thursday afternoon. Then, 24 minutes into the game, Moore pushed home a loose ball inside the Kazakhstan penalty area and the Welshmen held on for an important win in their road to the 2026 World Cup.
It was a hard-fought win and a likewise performance from Moore who had an ankle injury earlier in the season, sustained on his debut away at Southampton on the opening day of the season.
Speaking with Leader Live, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson hailed Moore’s bravery when scoring for Wales, whilst revealing that he wanted the big striker to stay at the club and recuperate this week, instead of going away on international duty.
Parkinson said: “It was a brilliant goal. It just typified him really, the bravery of the goal. Kieffer’s had this problem with his ankle ligament since the Southampton game.
“Ideally, we’d like to have had him some time for it to settle but he was keen to go and join up with the squad and we were more than happy for him to do that. I’m sure that the medical team over there will assess him.”

Kieffer Moore smashes Wrexham record with Wales
It’s been a long time since Wrexham fans have seen one of their own pull on the Welsh national shirt. And it’s been even longer since they’ve seen one of their own score for the country.
But Moore becomes the first Wrexham player to score for Wales since Chris Llewellyn in 2006, whilst becoming the first Wrexham player to play for Wales since Steve Evans in 2008.
Not just that, but the game against Kazakhstan was Moore’s 50th for Wales. In those 50 he’s now also scored 15 goals, ranking him joint 11th among the country’s all-time top scorers.
For Wrexham as a club and as a city, Moore is really doing a lot of good for them this season.
Parkinson’s side next return to action against QPR at the Racecourse on September 13th, in what is a 3pm kick off in North Wales.
