Wrexham let go of several players prior to the club kicking off their 2024/25 campaign in League One.
Wrexham let Anthony Forde leave by mutual consent on deadline day earlier this month and he’s now a free agent.
Rob McElhenney wrote a heartfelt message to James Jones after he left Wales to join Burton Albion in the winter window as well.
Prior to that, Wrexham released eight players after the close of the 2023/24 campaign, some of which have fared better than others.
Rob Lainton is still without a club following his contract not being renewed by the Red Dragons.
Meanwhile, Aaron Hayden could be relegated back down to the National League with Carlisle United in the current season.
While things haven’t worked out for said duo, one former Wrexham man is really thriving since he was axed eight months ago.

Wrexham legend Ben Tozer can win promotion
Ben Tozer was one of the first players through the door when McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’ rebuild began.
He joined from Cheltenham in August 2021 in a deal worth somewhere in the region of just under £200,000.
Tozer played every single minute of football when Wrexham won promotion from the National League in 2022/23.
The centre-back’s game time was reduced in League Two, making 29 appearances this past season.
Parkinson called Tozer ‘outstanding’ in April but he was then released on a free transfer in June before signing for Forest Green Rovers in the National League.
While something of a step down for the 34-year-old, he is excelling at his new club, notching 23 appearances and captaining them on several occasions.
And while there is still around a third of the season to play, Tozer’s new team have a very good chance of winning promotion out of the fifth tier as they currently sit in second place, two points off first but with a game in hand still to play.

Ben Tozer praised Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds
Tozer was so important to Wrexham’s rise up to League One and while he never got a chance to play in the third tier, McElhenney and Reynolds seem grateful to the player.
Speaking back in August 2024 after he had already joined Forest Green, Tozer revealed what McElhenney and Reynolds still do for him despite his exit.
He said: “They are very personable. They will text you. Even since I have been at Forest Green, they texted me and asked how it is, not just how is the new club, but also mentioned the club as well.”
