George Dobson has been discussing why Wrexham have been so successful when playing at home.
The Red Dragons’ rise up the English football ladder has been nothing short of amazing.
Since Hollywood duo Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds took ownership of the club in February 2021, Wrexham have ended their 15-year stint in the National League and reached League One within just a few seasons.
The heavy investment brought by their American owners and the excellent management of Phil Parkinson have both played a key role in their meteoric rise.
However, as is the case with any football club, the importance of a solid home record cannot and should not be underestimated.
Wrexham lost 3-1 to Birmingham City on Monday – their first defeat of the 2024/25 League One campaign.
But that clash took place at St Andrew’s, with the Welsh outfit’s superb home record still intact.

George Dobson names key to Wrexham success
In fact, the club’s home record is so impressive that they are even leading two of the country’s top teams in a key stat.
Wrexham have conceded fewer home goals than Arsenal and Manchester City in 2024, shipping just seven in all domestic competitions when playing at the Racecourse Ground this year.
Man City, meanwhile, have let in nine and Mikel Arteta’s Gunners have also conceded nine at the Emirates.
Now, as per Leader Live, George Dobson has pinpointed Wrexham’s support as a key reason for their success on home turf.
He said: “It genuinely has been incredible. We have started really well at home. If you are going to be successful you have got to have a real strong home support and they make a huge difference.
“We know what a fortress we can make it at home and we have started well but we are not getting carried away with our home form.
“We know what we have to do to win games at home and we will be putting a lot of effort to go back out on Saturday and hopefully make it four from four.”

Wrexham vs Crawley Town prediction
After suffering their first defeat of the season on Monday evening, Parkinson will be keen for his side to bounce back on Saturday.
Wrexham host Crawley Town in a 3pm BST clash on Saturday, September 21st.
The home outfit go into the game sat joint-top of the third division but Birmingham are only behind them by goal difference and have a game in hand.
As a result, Wrexham cannot afford to drop any points when they face a Crawley side who are 13th in the table after five games.
On paper, a Wrexham win this weekend is very likely. The club have won all three of their home games in very conceiving fashion this season and have not conceded since the opening weekend versus Wycombe Wanderers.
A similar result is expected on Saturday, with Parkinson and co. likely to put a few past Crawley without reply,
