Wrexham are eyeing a third straight promotion in the 2024/25 campaign.
Phil Parkinson was made Wrexham manager in 2022 and has completely transformed the way the club plays.
Parkinson took the Red Dragons to the National League play-offs in his debut campaign before winning promotion back into the EFL the following year.
Wrexham then finished second in League Two last season to book a place in the third tier of English football for the first time over 20 years.
Now, the Red Dragons are once again eyeing promotion in 2024/25 and are firmly in contention to do so.
Wrexham were predicted to finish 20th in League One by Opta before a ball had been kicked this season.
However, after seeing off Lincoln City on Tuesday, the club are sat second in the table going into next week’s games.
It has been a very positive start but George Dobson is aware his side can still improve this term.

George Dobson shares what Wrexham have lacked this season
Dobson was excellent when Wrexham beat Lincoln on Tuesday, dominating in midfield during the 1-0 win.
While it was not the most exciting display from the Welsh team, it was still a solid win that helps the Hollywood-owned cub keep pace with Birmingham City and Wycombe Wanderers.
However, both of those sides still have at least one game in hand on Wrexham, who will need to put together an excellent run of form in the coming months if they are to earn automatic promotion.
But when speaking after Lincoln, as per Leader Live, Dobson highlighted the fact Wrexham must improve away from home if they are to stay in the promotion race, urging his teammates to be more aggressive.
He said: “We’ve had nine games at home and obviously to only draw one and win the rest is a good, strong effort from everyone.
“We’ve just got to keep using the support and the momentum we’ve got to hopefully keep winning these games at home.
“We know we can be a little bit better away from home, probably be a little bit more aggressive away from home, so if we can just improve that a little bit and keep the home form going then we’ll be there or thereabouts.”
Wrexham home and away record compared
Dobson is right to want more from his fellow players when they are away from the Racecourse Ground this season.
Wrexham have an excellent home record in 2024/25, dominating the entire EFL and Premier League in that area.
They have secured 25 points when playing at home in the 2024/25 campaign – winning eight and drawing one (0-0 vs Huddersfield Town).
No team has secured more in the top four tiers this term, with Sheffield United sitting in second place with 22 points.
In comparison, Wrexham have earned a worryingly low nine points away from the Racecourse this season, dropping points in six fixtures already.
Should that record not improve, it is hard to see Parkinson’s men being able to keep pace with the rest of the promotion-chasing pack.
