Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are looking to give Wrexham a major boost on the transfer front this January.
We are now just over one month away from the 2025 January transfer window getting underway.
Wrexham strengthened well over the summer and signed two more players on free transfers last month.
But with the possibility of automatic promotion still firmly on the cards, the Red Dragons are once more eyeing reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window.
Will Boyle has been tipped to leave Wrexham in the winter but the main focus at the Racecourse Ground is expected to be on incomings.
With the majority of their number nines not at their best in front of goal in 2024/25 so far and Jack Marriott still injured, Wrexham want to sign a striker in January.
The player is expected to have Championship experience at a minimum and we now have a fresh update on their pursuit of a centre-forward.

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds eye new relationships for Wrexham
Already, Wrexham have been offered at least 12 strikers as we head toward the January window getting underway.
Now, we have learned of a fresh update on the situation that is set to benefit the club massively going forward.
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’ arrival at the club in 2021 boosted their profile massively and the Hollywood pair are showing no signs of slowing down in terms of ambition.
On their search for a new nine, The Wrexham Insider understands that Wrexham would rather loan a striker than do anything permanent in January but don’t rule anything out at this stage.
The loan is expected to come from the Premier League or Championship but the Red Dragons are still waiting to see who is available because Premier League clubs don’t yet know themselves ahead of this busy festive period when games come thick and fast and injuries to key senior players often occur.
In a further boost for the club, we have learned that Wrexham are looking to build good relationships with Premier League teams in order to help them strengthen their squad with one eye on Championship football already.
We also learned that while Wrexham want at least one name through the door in January, more options could still be considered.

Wrexham rivals already unhappy with Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds
Signing Premier League-quality players while still plying their trade in League One will give Wrexham a huge advantage in their promotion push.
The club are currently second in the division and have already caught the ire of several rival teams this year.
Recently, Wycombe Wanderers’ Jack Grimmer made an ‘obscene’ Wrexham transfer claim ahead of the winter window.
Elsewhere, Bolton Wanders’ manager aimed a dig at Reynolds and McElhenney over the summer amid their spending in Wales.
And this potential new relationship with Premier League clubs is no doubt set to infuriate even more of Wrexham’s rivals in the coming months.
