George Thomason sends message to Wrexham fans
Reports last week suggested that Wrexham were moving to sign Thomason ahead of Huddersfield Town, launching a £1.2million move.
The deal ramped up over the weekend, with Thomason undergoing a Wrexham medical as he missed Bolton’s pre-season friendly with Hibernian.
Thomason was unveiled as a Wrexham player on Monday, penning a three-year contract with the Red Dragons.
The 24-year-old has now taken to Instagram to send a message to Wrexham fans as he settles in with his new club.
‘Fresh challenge. I can’t wait to get going and meet you all,’ said Thomason, alongside photos of himself at the STōK Cae Ras.
Bolton fans believe Thomason is perfect for Parkinson’s style of play and has been a real warrior in their midfield since signing from Longridge Town in 2020.
This is Thomason’s first taste of Championship football, but he certainly seems ready for the challenge ahead as Wrexham head towards the first game of the season.
Players respond to George Thomason
Thomason received plenty of messages from his former teammates, including Burnley and England squad member James Trafford.
Trafford played with Thomason at Bolton and showed his support, simply saying ‘GTHOMO’ alongside four love heart emojis.
Brentford midfielder Paris Maghoma applauded the move having also played alongside Thomason at Bolton, with Scott Arfield, George Johnston and Eoin Doyle joining in.
Former Trotters teammate Joe Bunney added a message for another Wrexham player as he congratulated Thomason on the move.
‘Love it mate… look after him @andy14cannon’ said Bunney, urging his ex-Rochdale teammate Andy Cannon to welcome Thomason with open arms.
Thomason certainly appears to be popular with his former teammates, and we are sure he will slot right into this Wrexham dressing room ahead of the new season.
