Wrexham are still revelling in their success of becoming the first side to win three consecutive promotions in the English Football League.
The incredible rise from National League obscurity to the Championship is about to net Wrexham a £40m revenue boost that will enable progression on and off the pitch.
Wrexham’s owners have planned a meeting with Phil Parkinson in order to discuss summer transfer plans whilst chief executive Michael Williamson is busy improving the club’s infrastructure.
Ryan Reynolds Premier League prediction of within ten years has taken a step closer but the Championship will bring new obstacles for the club.
Wrexham Insider spoke to TBR Football’s finance expert Adam Williams about how financial fair play rules may impact the Red Dragons upon promotion.

Wrexham’s Championship compliance with financial fair play rules
Supporters will know that the Wrexham squad will need strengthening ahead of the new campaign however, there are constraints that the Red Dragons will have to abide by.
Financial fair play rulings mean that clubs can only spend what they earn and have a limit of how much losses they can post within a financial year.
Williams stated: “In the Championship, you’re allowed to lose up to £13.5m per season – up to £41.4m over three years – and remain compliant with FFP, with costs like infrastructure investment and academy spending removed from the calculation.
“They received £14.3m in funding from the Allyn family in March, which is probably ringfenced for the stadium redevelopment but will also give them some FFP flexibility.
“We’d need to see their profit-loss figures for 2023-24 to get a feel of how much room they have, but I’d suspect they will post a chunky loss. That said, I don’t think it will be so big that they don’t have headroom to spend.”
Wrexham backed to become a ‘real force’ in Championship
Parkinson will know that his additions this summer will need to be analysed and considered more than ever as he looks to add to his group of players.
Wrexham don’t want superstars or egos coming into the club but Williams believes they have the financial muscle to give it a real go in the second tier.
Williams explained: “Financially, I think they have everything in order to become a real force in the Championship. It’s obviously a much harder league to get out of than League One because you have some big clubs with big revenues, plus the distortion from former Premier League clubs.
“I think it will be more of a slow burn but they have the infrastructure there to compete. They also have the cache of being Hollywood Wrexham, which I think will be a draw in terms of recruitment.”
Red Dragons can expect to be in for a summer of intrigue, big names could depart the club but exciting talent could be entering the Racecourse Ground.
