Wrexham have been linked with a host of players this summer, and Humphrey Ker has now discussed three of the club’s reported transfer targets.

Wrexham were promoted to the Championship on April 26, beating Charlton Athletic to finish second in League One.

Attention has now quickly turned toward the summer transfer window, which kicks off on June 1.

On the outgoings front, Paul Mullin could leave Wrexham, according to one report, with Wigan Athletic eyeing a deal.

Meanwhile, as well as a host of other names, Patrick Bamford, Jamie Vardy, and Tom Cairney have all been linked to the Red Dragons.

A transfer for Vardy always seemed somewhat unrealistic, with Ben Foster among those to play down the club’s chance of that deal.

Patrick Bamford has been a rumoured target of the Welsh side since the winter of 2025, with his Leeds United future up in the air.

Most recently, it was claimed that Wrexham want to sign Tom Cairney, who is out of contract with Fulham next month.

Now, speaking to Chris Moyles this week, club chief Humphrey Ker was asked about the Dragons signing all three players.

CM: “Can I ask you some questions from our lovely listeners?” HK: “Please.” CM: “Alright. Alan says, ‘Have Wrexham signed Jamie Vardy?’”

HK: “No.” CM: “Okay.” CM: “Are you looking at Jamie Vardy?” HK: “No.” CM: “Patrick Bamford?” HK: “No.” CM: “Oh, okay.”

HK: “Actually, I should stop doing this, because eventually you might say someone where I have to be like, ‘Yes.’ No, I will say that obviously one of the things is that – much like Ryan Reynolds – the name Wrexham generates clicks, so we are starting now to get linked with absolutely everybody. I’m like, ‘Who?’ I see people, I saw our fans getting absolutely incandescent on Twitter about it. ‘What on Earth are they doing trying to sign this guy?!’ when none of us have heard of him before!”

DB: “And you’re going to get a whole summer of this, aren’t you?” HK: “Yes.”

CM: “Here’s another one for you. Daniel says, ‘Chris, what a phenomenal story the Wrexham one is, but can you please ask Humphrey, with peace and love, to stay away from the Fulham captain Tom Cairney please.’ And that’s from Daniel who is a Fulham fan.”

HK: “Daniel, you got it.” CM: “Oh, okay! Jees, they’re not signing anybody!”

HK: “Well, I mean, he’s a brilliant player, Tom Cairney, and I’m sure we’d be very grateful to have him. But he is the very specific instance where our fans were like, ‘I’m not sure about this, I don’t know what they’re doing. What does this mean about our transfer thing?’ Like, we haven’t had that conversation yet.”

Who else could Wrexham sign

While moves for Bamford, Vardy and seemingly Cairney aren’t on the table right now, there are still more names linked with the club.

We understand that Tom Lawrence and Charlie Savage are liked by the Dragons, who would be open to bringing them in this summer.

Lewis O’Brien was a rumoured target, but we learned last week that the player’s camp is yet to hear from the newly promoted side.
