Wrexham haven’t even finished their 2024/25 League One season yet, but the rather interesting transfer links have already begun to emerge.
Humphrey Ker revealed last week that he was told to sign Kevin De Bruyne for Wrexham now that the Premier League icon is on his way out of Manchester City.
That move obviously isn’t happening, but the Red Dragons are already been linked with a number of other big names going into the summer.
Rangers ace Tom Lawrence has been linked, though that is a deal that could actually have some chance of happening.
Meanwhile, Jamie Vardy to Wrexham became a talking point last week after the former England international confirmed he would be departing Leicester City for free this season.

Ben Foster rules out Jamie Vardy Wrexham transfer
Wrexham fans reacted to Vardy links, with most not pleased by the rumours of the striker moving to the Racecourse Ground.
Now, former goalkeeper Ben Foster has been asked about the Foxes ace joining Phil Parkinson’s side following their promotion to the Championship.
Foster, who won National League promotion with Wrexham, stated on his podcast on Tuesday that a Championship move is not happening.
“Championship not happening.”
Then, when asked about a potential Wrexham move, Foster replied: “Still not happening.
“The only options, abroad, he could go to America. If he’s at that point where he’s like ‘me and the Mrs and the kids going to go out there for a couple of years’.
“Smash it in the MLS, he’d be loved out there, he’d do really well out there, score some goals. Nice bit of warm weather, shots and flip-flops barbeques every day, driving fancy cars. It sounds lovely, doesn’t it? Or there’s 15 Premier League teams you can sign for Jamie, take your pick. Newcastle would be unreal.”
What Phil Parkinson said about Jamie Vardy to Wrexham
It was reported recently that Parkinson played down Vardy to Wrexham links, suggesting that neither he nor the aforementioned De Bruyne have even been discussed.
Championship salaries are set to cost the club a great deal when exploring the market this summer and moves for said duo would seriously break the bank.
Vardy is thought to take home £140,000-a-week from his current Leicester contract, while De Bruyne is netting a measly £400,000-a-week at City right now according to Capology.
Wrexham plan to quadruple their wage bill in 2025/26, but those types of figures may just be a bit of a stretch for the Welsh side.
