Wrexham have now become an inspiration to many ambitious clubs within the footballing world, and another has stated their intention to copy the success of the Welsh club.
Wrexham had been languishing in the lower divisions of the EFL and in the National League until the investment from Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac.
The pair were the catalyst for the club’s rise through the English pyramid, as they achieved a historic three consecutive promotions, seeing them compete in the Championship this season, the first time in 43 years.
While there have been examples of Lleida in the Spanish footballing pyramid looking to emulate Wrexham, a London club have stated their intention to do so in the English divisions.

Soul Tower Hamlets announce their intention to be the ‘mini-Wrexham’
Despite their elimination from this season’s FA Cup, it is clear to see the club are on their own journey; despite being in the ninth tier of English football, they want to emulate the rapid success of Wrexham.
There is a determination to succeed, particularly after their promotion last season, with the club’s defeat in the FA Cup to Flackwell, who are in the eighth tier.
Vice-chair Richard ‘Dickie’ Mayhew spoke about the ambition within the club with TNT Sports.
He said: “So the idea is obviously to build the club and the community and see if we can do a mini-Wrexham.
“”The way it’s going this year, our ambitions are hopefully we’d like to get to the play-offs at least and have a good cup run and then see where we go from there.”
Wrexham’s climb through the divisions
No club has achieved four consecutive promotions to the Premier League directly from the National League, and at present it looks like that will not change as Wrexham languish near the relegation zone of the Championship.
However, the campaign is only five games in, and there is a chance that this can be reversed, particularly due to the heavy investment in the squad this summer, with £33 million being spent on Phil Parkinson’s team.
There have been rumours that Phil Parkinson may be relieved of his duties as Wrexham manager if he does not quickly correct the form of the team in the Championship.
