Wrexham head to the Den on Saturday to take on Millwall in their upcoming Championship clash.
Wrexham make the frightful journey to The Den on Saturday for what will be an eye-opening experience for many of the club’s longer-serving players.
Names like James McClean and Wrexham’s top scorer Kieffer Moore will have played at The Den many times in their career. But for names like Max Cleworth and several others who have been with Phil Parkinson’s Wrexham throughout their rise up the Football League, it will be a new experience.
Millwall’s home ground is often labelled as one of the most hostile in all of world football. But ahead of the weekend, Millwall have announced that they’ve lost one of their key players in Japhet Tanganga.

Millwall confirm Japhet Tanganga exit ahead of Wrexham clash
Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Tanganga joined Millwall back in 2024, and the 26-year-old Englishman went on to become a key player for the Lions, shining in the 2024-25 season in particular featuring 40 times in the Championship.
Tanganga went on to be named Millwall’s Player of the Year last time round. Then going into this summer, Tanganga had links with several Premier League clubs and several teams in Europe, but Millwall announced on Thursday that Tanganga has joined Championship rivals Sheffield United on a permanent deal, having not featured in any of the Lions’ last two games.

Millwall’s form vs Wrexham’s ahead of Saturday
Despite only being three games into the season, there are already five points standing between Millwall and Wrexham in the Championship table. Alex Neil’s Millwall sit in 8th place of the table, whilst Parkinson’s Wrexham sit in 19th.
So far this season, Wrexham have picked up just one point in the league, drawing 2-2 against Sheffield Wednesday in their last outing.
But the Dragons are making good progress in the Carabao Cup and going to this weekend’s game with a bit of momentum, after Wrexham beat Preston 3-2 in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
Millwall, meanwhile, have won two of their opening three Championship games, losing the other to Middlesbrough. The Lions have beaten Norwich City and Sheffield United so far this season.
At home, against an out of sorts Wrexham side, the Lions may be expecting to pick up another three points, even despite the loss of Tanganga.
