The future of Ollie Palmer at Wrexham has been called into question during the final days of the transfer window.
Following in the footsteps of Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer was one of the first marquee signings at Wrexham under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, signing from AFC Wimbledon.
Palmer is one of the Red Dragons’ record transfers, joining for somewhere around the £300,000 mark.
He was prolific during his first six months in Wales, finding the net 15 times in 21 National League appearances.
Palmer’s goal return diminished somewhat the following season, scoring 16 in 45 league matches.
And it’s been a steady decline from the Englishman with each campaign that has passed, including really struggling in 2024/25.
Now, with Wrexham signing two strikers this month, the forward’s future at the Racecourse Ground has been called into doubt.

What Ollie Palmer has said about leaving Wrexham
Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez joining means Phil Parkinson has seven centre-forwards to pick from for two positions.
In turn, it wasn’t too shocking to see it claimed late last week that Palmer has transfer interest after Wrexham’s recent business.
The 33-year-old has already made his stance on leaving Wales clear in an interview back in May 2024.
The striker admitted he wants to end his career at Wrexham on the Elvis Duran Show but seemed aware that may not be possible, saying he’d love to play in America.
He said: “I will speak the truth, complete facts, because that’s how I always answer my questions. I’d love to play for Wrexham until the end of my career, that would be my ultimate goal.
“But the honest reality is that it’s growing at such a fast pace and the aim is to get into the Premier League, and there is no time to be sentimental. So my aim is to be there for as long as possible and to deliver the club success.
“I’ll do that for as long as I’m wanted to. Failing that, because everything does come to an end, I’d love to play in America.”

Ollie Palmer Wrexham stats
It was an honest assessment from Palmer and is already seemingly coming true.
He no longer looks good enough to compete on a regular basis for a club at the top end of League One, only scoring three goals this season.
However, the forward should be remembered for being a pretty prolific striker during a historic period for the club.
Palmer has made 148 appearances for Wrexham in all competitions, scoring 42 goals and providing six assists.
