Ollie Palmer has now praised one of the ‘best players’ Wrexham had during his time with the football club.
Ollie Palmer joined Wrexham from AFC Wimbledon in January 2022 for what was, at the time, a club-record transfer fee.
Palmer helped the Dragons climb out of the National League and reach the Championship.
However, Phil Parkinson axed the striker early in 2025, and he has since left permanently for Swindon Town.
The 33-year-old has now discussed the Red Dragons this week and had high praise for one player.

Ollie Palmer names Eoghan O’Connell as one of Wrexham’s best players
The former Wrexham centre-forward appeared on the Life of a Kitman podcast this week.
When doing so, he was asked to pick a five-a-side team of the best players he has played with.
At the back, Palmer opted to include Eoghan O’Connell and was quick to heap praise on the centre-back, suggesting Wrexham would not have achieved what they have without him.
Palmer said: “He was one of our best players and you know sometimes people don’t get the credit for it.
“He could do everything. He was aggressive. He was good in the air. He was unbelievable on the ball. He was a leader. And I think for me, we wouldn’t have done the things that we’ve done without him.”
What Eoghan O’Connell is doing after leaving Wrexham
O’Connell joined Wrexham from Charlton Athletic in 2023, helping the club win two promotions.
He made 91 appearances for the Welsh side, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
O’Connell left Wrexham on September 4, having his contract terminated by mutual consent.
Parkinson said at the time: “I’d like to thank Eoghan for his contributions over the last two-and-a-half years, playing a part in all three of our promotions,” said Parkinson.
“We thought he had a move prior to the transfer window closing, but it didn’t materialise in time, and Eoghan has decided to part ways so he can look for the next challenge in his career. We all wish him well.”
The 30-year-old is yet to find a new team and has been on the free-agent market for just over a month.
