Wrexham could now be eight games away from making history and winning promotion from League One.
The Red Dragons had a slow start to 2025, which included, after a 10-month unbeaten run, losing two home matches in a row.
Such questionable results made it seem likely that Wrexham were going to blow their shot at automatic promotion.
However, recent results have fired Phil Parkinson’s side firmly back into contention for a second-place finish, which would see them become the first team in history to win three successive promotions when starting from the fifth tier of English football or higher.
Wrexham beat Wycombe Wanderers earlier this month before another huge victory over Stockport County was secured last weekend.
Since seeing off Stockport, Wrexham’s reserves have been in action, with one player making a return.

Phil Parkinson shares Andy Cannon injury update
Paul Mullin scored for Wrexham as they came out 4-0 winners versus Mansfield Town on Tuesday evening.
Following that clash, Parkinson has shared updates on two players, one of whom was Andy Cannon.
Wrexham provided an update on Cannon in late February, confirming he had suffered a ruptured ACL in a clash with Mansfield.
He’s since undergone surgery and is expected to be out for around nine months, as per Leader Live, with Parkinson now providing an update on the midfielder this week.
He said: “It’s a long road ahead for Andy. He’s in every day and it’s great to have him around with the lads.
“It is tough for him. It looked bad at the time and the subsequent scan proved that but he’s had the operation, which was successful.
“Now we’ve got to start the road ahead for him. He’s just doing upper body weights and trying to keep himself as fit as he can.”

Callum Burton returns for Wrexham
On a more positive note, Callum Burton is now back in action for Wrexham after suffering a long-term problem of his own.
The goalkeeper stepped up in the absence of Arthur Okonkwo, but Burton was injured versus Barnsley in early December last year.
However, he started in the Central League meeting this week, and Parkinson has also commented on his return.
He said: “It was a shame for Callum because he’d got in the team with Arthur’s broken wrist and was doing well,” said Parkinson.
“It was an injury out of nowhere but he’s been training the last few weeks
“He played some of the reserve game a couple of weeks ago and he played against Mansfield.”
