Paul Mullin was in action for Wigan Athletic over the weekend, taking on Lincoln City.

Wrexham loaned out Paul Mullin over the summer when it became clear he wasn’t in Phil Parkinson’s plans.

The striker is still under contract at the Racecourse Ground until 2027, but his long-term future remains in doubt.

Mullin seemed to hint he was done with Wrexham during an interview that was published this week.

He can return to North Wales in January due to a clause in his loan deal. But right now, his focus will be getting back to his best at Wigan Athletic.

How Paul Mullin fared in Wigan Athletic draw with Lincoln City

Before Saturday, the centre-forward had two goals to his name during the 2025/26 season.

The first came against Notts County in the Carabao Cup and the second against Rotherham United in League One.

Mullin was in from the off against Lincoln City on Saturday and added a third goal after 10 minutes.

Sam Tickle kicked the ball long from his own box, allowing the Wrexham striker to touch it down, take it past the goalkeeper and score.

A few minutes later, Wigan fans were chanting for Mullin, who could have potentially had another goal or two in the first half.

The Liverpool-born ace capitalised on an error in the 14th minute, but he was too close to the goalkeeper and his effort was easily saved.

Not long after, Mullin probably would have scored, but his fellow strike partner, Christian Saydee, got on the end of a cross instead and put his chance over.

In the second half, the Wrexham loanee forced the Lincoln keeper to put the ball into his own goal, but the referee, rightly, blew for a foul.

Saydee was then sent off in the 68th minute, and this hampered the Latics, with Mullin eventually being taken off after struggling in a 10-man team.

Lincoln had a player of their own sent off late on, and when all was said and done, the tie ended 2-2.
