Wrexham AFC have enjoyed much success under Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, but their takeover has caused one big issue.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac purchased Wrexham from the club’s Supporters Trust in February 2021.

Over four years later, the Dragons have been given a valuation of £350m amid a potential stake sale.

On the field, the Welsh powerhouse ended their 15-year spell in the National League before going on to make history with three promotions in a row.

Wrexham’s rise is unparalleled, and thanks to their owners, they have attracted a global fanbase.

The Welcome to Wrexham viewing figures are impressive, and the growing success of the Dragons continues to attract plenty of fans to the Racecourse Ground. But this is causing a major issue.

Wrexham Council message to Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac

Earlier this season, police issued a statement to Wrexham fans who were attending the home match against Sheffield Wednesday.

They urged fans to park legally out of ‘respect for the club’s neighbours’.

Since the takeover, the Racecourse continues to be filled to the brim each matchday, but this is causing parking problems.

Back in March 2025, Wrexham Council introduced a Park and Ride system for fans attending games.

This initiative was expected to help reduce the congestion in the local area while Wrexham were playing.

However, problems around parking remain in 2025/26, with 33 tickets issued on Ellice Way for parking on the grass or pavement during the club’s last home match against Wednesday.

Now, Wrexham councillor Phil Wynn has spoken out, urging the club to ‘take responsibility’ for the ongoing disruption to residents.

As per Leader Live, he stated: “Parking on pavements by fans is a matter for police enforcement, which not only consumes valuable police resources but also places a burden on members of the public who must be willing to provide statements and potentially attend court if a ticket is contested.

“The most effective and sustainable solution is for the Club to take responsibility by funding a Matchday Residents Parking Scheme.”

Wrexham stadium capacity

The issue of parking is only expected to get worse when the expansion of Wrexham’s stadium is complete.

Currently, the Dragons are renovating the Kop stand, and once completed, the Racecourse Ground will be able to hold 18,000 people.

Residents are said to be in support of the Kop plans, according to the Leader, but they have concerns about parking.

Wrexham are not in action this weekend due to the international break, but will return to the Racecourse on September 13 vs QPR.
