Phil Parkinson has spoken about Wrexham’s mixed home form ahead of the Championship clash with Birmingham City on Friday.

Wrexham welcome Birmingham City to the Racecourse on Friday night, where the Dragons will go in search of their first home league win of the season.

Phil Parkinson’s side have taken just two points from four games at home this season with their last home game being the 1-1 draw against Derby County last weekend.

Wrexham though sit in 8th place of the away form table with seven points from four games, leaving them in 15th place of the Championship table compared to Birmingham City in 11th.

Phil Parkinson not worried about Wrexham’s home form ahead of Birmingham City

Speaking to the press ahead of Friday’s game. Parkinson was asked about the poor home form in the Championship this season, reminding reporters that Wrexham have picked up Carabao Cup wins against Hull City and Reading on home soil this season.

The Wrexham boss explained: “Obviously, we won in the cup against Reading and went through on penalties against Hull. Derby, the game was there for us really and we didn’t take the opportunity. But it’s just about performance level, and we’re looking at the performance against Leicester and a lot of the Derby game as well and what we need to do well. If we can bring that to the table on Friday we’ll have a great chance.”

Back in January, Wrexham and Birmingham City drew 1-1 at the Racecourse, with Ollie Rathbone scoring the only goal for Wrexham that game. But the Dragons lost the fixture at St Andrew’s 3-1 earlier in the 2024/25 campaign.

How does Birmingham City’s away form compare to Wrexham’s home form?

Wrexham’s winless run at home in the Championship is certainly a cause for concern. But there’s every chance that they can get that first win on Friday night.

Birmingham City fans are predicting defeat against Wrexham and it may be because of their torrid away form this season: Blues have taken just three points from four games on the road this season.

And Chris Davies’ side have now won just one of their last five Championship games whilst Wrexham have lost one of their last eight in all competitions, so the momentum is certainly with the Welsh side.

Kick off is at 8pm and the game will be shown live on Sky Sports.
