Wrexham are seeking their first win of the season as they travel to the Den to face Millwall.

Phil Parkinson’s side have just one point from their first three Championship matches after throwing away a two-goal lead at home to Sheffield Wednesday in their last fixture.

Craig Bellamy has praised Nathan Broadhead following his move to the Red Dragons, however, the forward is yet to really ignite in his first two appearances.

Broadhead has played just behind fellow new signing Kieffer Moore, who has struck three goals in his last two games but is managing an ankle injury suffered on the opening day. Parkinson has given a worrying update.

Phil Parkinson says Wrexham are ‘managing’ Kieffer Moore’s ankle injury

Speaking to the Leader, Parkinson has admitted that he is having to manage the workload of Moore heading into the international break.

Moore has been called up for Wales in their latest squad for the World Cup qualifiers but the in-form striker is still struggling with his ankle after aggravating it against Sheffield Wednesday.

Parkinson stated: “His ankle has settled down, I am pleased for him. We are keeping him going until the weekend and then we will assess the ankle after that.

“But he is strapping it up and getting on with it, which is what you need but we have got to make sure he keeps getting training in his legs as well.

“If you look at the West Brom game, he didn’t do anything for the whole week and was just half-a-yard away so we have got to get that balance right with him.

“Give him a bit of rest but also make sure he’s getting enough training in his legs.”

Kieffer Moore has an excellent record against Millwall

Moore revealed he couldn’t turn down Wrexham when the opportunity presented itself in the summer and the striker has certainly hit the ground running.

He has provided Parkinson with the focal point he craves in his attack and been one of the club’s most consistent performers in the opening exchanges of the season.

With the Red Dragons desperate for more points on the board before the international break, they will be looking for Moore to continue his excellent record against Millwall.

Parkinson has a dilemma as to who partners the Wales international in attack with Ryan Hardie staking a claim after his display against Preston in the Carabao Cup.
