Wrexham have made a steady start to life in the Championship, although it’s not exactly been too impressive of a start.

In recent seasons, Wrexham have been accustomed to starting well and getting themselves higher up the table early on.

And whilst it’s still very early days, only four games into the season, Wrexham are in 15th place of the Championship table with just one win to their name.

But Phil Parkinson’s side might expect to really start putting the points on the board now after Wrexham beat Millwall 2-0 in their last outing, then signing three quality new players on deadline day.

Wrexham signed Ben Sheaf, Dom Hyam and Issa Kabore on deadline day alone and now Parkinson looks as though he’s got a squad ready to propel up the Championship table.

Phil Parkinson pleased with Wrexham’s start to 25/26 season

Speaking to Leader Live ahead of Wrexham’s upcoming Championship match against QPR, Parkinson explained how he’s pleased with how his side have found themselves competing in every one of their league games so far this season.

Parkinson also touched upon Wrexham’s strong showing in front of goal so far with seven goals scored in their opening four games, and at least one goal scored in every game they’ve played in this season, in all competitions.

The Dragons boss said: “I think everybody has realised the quality level, and it is a bigger jump from the National League to League Two to League One.

“The quality level just goes up the higher you are, and in this division you are up against a lot of Premier League standard players and teams who have been at the top level of football.

“But we have got to take heart as well because we have been in every game, we have created chances in all the games and we have looked like we can score, which is the hardest thing to do in football.”

Wrexham’s next 5 Championship fixtures could make or break the season

Up next is a game against QPR at the Racecourse. And it marks the start of five ever-difficult Championship fixtures for the Dragons, though there are certainly some winnable games thrown in there.

After QPR, Wrexham head to Norwich City, then host Derby County, before a game away at Leicester City.

Then on October 3rd, before the October international break, Wrexham host Birmingham City in what should be a really exciting and close encounter between the two US-funded giants.

Wrexham’s next 5 league gamesDate
QPR (H)13.09.25
Norwich City (A)20.09.25
Derby County (H)27.09.25
Leicester City (A)30.09.25
Birmingham City (H)03.10.25

Like Parkinson says, there are certainly positives for Wrexham to take from their start to the season, and if his side can get through the next five or so games with a few more wins then they could really start to put together a concrete promotion push.
