Wrexham have had their fair share of injury issues over the the course of the 2024/25 season so far.

Paul Mullin missed the start of the campaign after undergoing surgery and has failed to recapture his best form since returning.

Another Wrexham striker has also had to deal with injury woes, with Jack Marriott ruled out for four months in early October.

Marriott was, and remains, the Red Dragons’ top scorer this term, with his absence greatly hampering the club’s ability to find the back of the net.

Aside from striking problems, the Welsh outfit have seen their goalkeeper ranks depleted over the last month or so.

Arthur Okonkwo is out with a wrist injury and isn’t expected back for at least a few more weeks.

Wrexham number two Callum Burton underwent surgery this week as well and could now be out for the remainder of the season.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson provides James Jones injury update

With two of their senior keepers sidelined, Wrexham signed Brad Foster on a short-term deal and he made his debut on Tuesday versus Crewe.

Foster was excellent and helped the Red Dragons keep their fourth clean sheet in a row.

However, it was not all good news in midweek as Wrexham lost James Jones to injury after just 32 minutes.

Now, as per Leader Live, Phil Parkinson has provided an injury update on Jones, confirming the issue was a recurrence of a problem he has been managing for a while.

He said: “I feel for James. He’s had a problem with his foot for a while now.

“I’d say probably around the FA Cup game at Harrogate when he came out of training and we’ve rested him, he’s had an injection.

“He’s been back in training a week with no problem but he felt it go against Crewe and I don’t know the extent of it but I feel for James because he was ready to make a contribution and we have just got to keep our fingers crossed it’s not too serious.”

Every Wrexham star out injured right now

Jones’ injury, while not great, should not impact Wrexham too much in their preparation for Cambridge United this weekend.

Parkinson has a plethora of midfield options to choose from, including Matty James, George Dobson, Ollie Rathbone and Andy Cannon.

However, the Wrexham manager will still likely be concerned about the number of players he is missing right now ahead of the busy festive period.
