Callum Burton was in great form for Wrexham before picking up an injury last week against Barnsley.
Callum Burton joined Wrexham during the 2024 summer transfer window from Plymouth Argyle, arriving on a free.
The 28-year-old saw little game time early in the campaign but was thrust into the starting line-up when Arthur Okonkwo suffered an injury.
The Englishman went on to start four league games in a row for the Red Dragons, helping keep two clean sheets.
However, Burton was injured against Barnsley last week, coming off after just 23 minutes in the 1-0 victory.
Veteran goalkeeper Mark Howard stepped up to replace him, helping see out the win over the Yorkshire outfit and most recently, starting as Wrexham beat Burton Albion 1-0 on Saturday.
After that game, Phil Parkinson provided an injury update on Burton and it wasn’t looking great.

Callum Burton shares injury update, Wrexham legend Andy Morrell responds
Speaking about his number two over the weekend, the Wrexham manager said: “Very bad news, [I’m] so disappointed for him. He’s torn the thigh. It could be the season [over] for him.”
While fans may have been hoping to see the 28-year-old return sooner rather than later, his latest update suggests that won’t be the case.
Burton has recently taken to X/Twitter, posting a picture of himself in a hospital bed with a bandage wrapped around his thigh and a cast on his leg.
In the caption if the post, he wrote: “Operate successful. Time to rest up and attack the rehab to get back out there”.
Wrexham legend Andy Morrell took to the comment section of Burton’s tweet, writing: “All the best mate!! Speedy recovery”.

Wrexham outline goalkeeper transfer plan after Callum Burton blow
With Burton now facing a spell on the sidelines and Okonkwo not ready to return yet, the Red Dragons are really short of options in the goalkeeper department.
Howard will keep his place as the new number one for the time being, while Brad Foster signed for Wrexham late last week.
However, Foster has never made an appearance in League One and would likely struggle if and when he’s called upon.
But Parkinson still wants another Wrexham signing, and is looking to battle the EFL to ensure his club can sign a replacement goalkeeper to tide them over until Okonkwo is back.
