Wrexham are gearing up for the 2025 summer pre-season ahead of their first campaign back in the second tier.

After promotion from League One was confirmed, Wrexham players travelled to Las Vegas to celebrate.

Their annual trip to the United States has now ended, with stars having a few weeks off before they return to training.

Wrexham announced their pre-season tour earlier this week, and unlike the last two years, they will not be going to North America.

Instead, the Red Dragons will play three friendly matches in Australia and New Zealand, starting on July 11 and ending on July 19.

Phil Parkinson has now been discussing the club’s plans for post-Australia.

Phil Parkinson confirms plans for more Wrexham pre-season friendlies

The 2025/26 Championship season start date is confirmed, with action kicking off the weekend commencing August 8.

That would leave a two-week gap from Wrexham’s last friendly in Australia to their first match of the new campaign.

However, Parkinson has now been discussing plans to announce more friendly fixtures, as per Leader Live.

The manager said the club will announce the games in the coming weeks and that they will most likely take place away from the Racecourse Ground due to the ongoing renovations.

He said: “We will be looking at a couple of fixtures when we come back which will be announced over the next few weeks.

“I expect both fixtures to be away to give the pitch renovation the maximum opportunity.”

Phil Parkinson on Wrexham’s Australia pre-season

Wrexham are set to face Melbourne Victory, Sydney FC, and Wellington Phoenix during their first pre-season tour of Australia.

On the trip, Parkinson said: “It will be a great experience for us going to Australia and New Zealand.

“Both countries love their sport, and it’s going to be good to test ourselves against teams in their top league.

“The standard is improving over there and they will be competitive games, which is what you want in pre-season.”

Rob McElhenney commented on Wrexham’s pre-season recently as well, saying: “But this year we’re going to our third biggest market, Australia, and possibly New Zealand.

“But Australia there’s just, it’s a massive football country, and there’s a lot of great interest in playing with Wrexham, so that’s what we’re going to do.”
