Wrexham’s Las Vegas promotion party details emerge as ‘over-excited’ players need firefighter rescue

Wrexham players have been enjoying a hard-earned break after securing promotion by partying in Las Vegas, but it sounds like they’ve been enjoying themselves a little bit too much this weekend.

Trips to Las Vegas are becoming an annual holiday for the Wrexham players, with a third-successive promotion in the bag after a brilliant campaign in League One.

As always, that success leads to Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds shelling out for an all-expenses-paid trip to the City of Sin.

Naturally, the players cut loose and get a little wild on these trips, but by the sounds of it, they got carried away this year and caused a bit of chaos at the Bellagio Hotel.

Why Wrexham players needed saving by firefighters in Las Vegas

According to a report from The Sun, the Wrexham squad had been enjoying a day of drinking and partying, but when they returned to their hotel, they managed to break the lift and were stuck there for an hour.

A source said: “After leaving [a pool party], the players went back to the Bellagio Hotel to get ready before heading to Hakkasan Nightclub. They’d been drinking all day and were a bit over-excited when they got in the lift to go up to the entrance of the club on the fourth floor.

“They started messing around by jumping up and down. Next thing they knew, the lift came to an abrupt stop and would no longer move.

“They ended up having a sobering hour-long wait for firefighters to help get them out.”

We won’t name any names, but we’re pretty sure you can just picture which of the players were doing the jumping and messing around in that lift!

What else has been said about Wrexham’s Las Vegas trip?

Over the course of the weekend, we’ve seen Rob McElhenney posing for photos with Ollie Palmer, with a caption that potentially hints at the big striker sticking around.

The Wrexham party also crossed paths with Patrick Bamford, who has been linked with a move to the Red Dragons this summer.

New signing Ryan Longman was told the Vegas trip is ‘ten times’ more wild than he could imagine, and by the sounds of it, they weren’t kidding.

Meanwhile, Phil Parkinson is at home waiting for the players to return, and the Wrexham boss insisted he just wants them back in one piece. That might be easier said than done, actually.
