A player who is now worth more than Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer has scored his first league goal after departing Wrexham this summer.
A total of 20 players left Wrexham following their promotion from League One, including Mullin and Palmer.
The duo were once the Red Dragons’ best centre-forwards, but like so many others, were moved on this season.
Mullin, Palmer, Jack Marriott, Steven Fletcher, and Sam Dalby all departed the Racecourse Ground in 2025, with the latter finally scoring his first League One goal this week.

Sam Dalby scores first League One goal for Bolton Wanderers
Amid a prolific season on loan at Dundee United, which saw him score 15 in 37, Dalby turned down a Wrexham contract in early 2025.
As a result, he was one of eight players released by the Dragons when their deals expired in June.
He eventually signed for Bolton Wanderers and after failing to find the back of the net in his first nine League One outings of 2025/26, the 25-year-old opened his account in midweek in a 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town.
Bolton boss Steve Schumacher recently commented on Dalby’s playing time, predicting the centre-forward would eventually get his chance to start regularly.
He said: “At the moment he can’t moan, when he looks at Mason who has been playing his position and scored seven goals in 11 games.
“Sometimes I think as a striker you just have to be patient, and Sam knows that he will get his chance to start games. I know that when he gets that opportunity he will be effective as well because he’s a good player and we know what he can do.”
Dalby took his chance on October 16, and it should be just the boost he needs to kick on in the remainder of the season.

Sam Dalby transfer value compared to Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer
Of all the strikers that left Wrexham this summer, the now Bolton man had the highest expectations placed upon him going into 2025/26.
Dalby is worth more than Mullin and Palmer now, with a transfer value of €900,000 (around £786,000).
However, so far this term, every other former Wrexham centre-forward has outscored him.
Mullin, worth €550,000, has four in 15. Palmer, valued at €100,000, has five in eight.
Meanwhile, Jack Marriott is the best-performing ex-number nine with six goals in eight matches for Reading and has a value of €500,000.
