Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have now come in for high praise this week.
After being inspired by Sunderland, Rob McElhenney set about trying to find a football club to purchase.
McElhenney looked at Hartlepool United and several other teams before eventually settling on Wrexham.
Along with Ryan Reynolds, the duo bought the club from the Supporters Trust back in February 2021.
Their first few months at the Racecourse Ground did not end too well, with the Red Dragons missing out on the National League play-off places on the final day of 2020/21.
But the North American duo have now been praised for something they did shortly after that.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney praised by Wrexham coach
Reynolds and McElhenney decided to sack Dean Keates shortly after the 2020/21 season came to a close.
After searching for a new manager, Phil Parkinson was eventually brought to the Racecourse.
Parkinson has since helped the Welsh side climb from the fifth tier of English football to the Championship in the space of four years.
Now, as per Leader Live, first-team coach David Jones has been praising the Wrexham owners this week, including their decision to appoint ‘quality’ boss Parkinson.
He said: “Rob and Ryan have been superb from the beginning.
“Their enthusiasm, drive and commitment to the club has inspired everyone connected with Wrexham.
“On the footballing side, they have brought in a quality manager in Phil Parkinson, who has now been promoted six times in his career, as well as the experienced Steve Parkin and Aidan Davison, who have great knowledge of the game.
“The players that have been integrated into the squad over the last few seasons have been a mix of youth and experience, which has proved very successful.”

How much is Wrexham worth
Earlier this year, Wrexham received a valuation of £100m – £98m more than what McElhenney and Reynolds paid back in 2021.
This month, meanwhile, a staggering £350m valuation has been put on the club as the Hollywood pair look for yet more outside investment.
A finance expert has discussed Wrexham’s new valuation this week and when doing so, floated the idea of possible investment from the Middle East in the future.
