Wrexham have enjoyed a massive rise under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, which could one day see them playing European football again.
The Red Dragons have now won back-to-back promotions and are on course to at least finish in the League One play-off places this season.
Earlier this season, meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took steps toward taking Wrexham to a completely new level.
The Welsh outfit are currently in the third tier of English football, meaning they can’t qualify for European football as those places only go to the top seven sides in the Premier League.
However, Wrexham opened talks to join the Welsh League Cup in late September 2024, which would give them a proper chance of plying their trade in Europe in the next few seasons.

Newport County chief backs Wrexham plan to join Welsh League Cup
After the news first broke, the reaction has been very mixed across the board.
Phil Parkinson supported the idea of Wrexham joining the Welsh League Cup and the FAW are interested in the proposal as well but some others are not as happy with the idea.
Wrexham were told to ‘stay in England’ by BBC pundit Marc Lloyd Williams, stating his belief that Welsh clubs currently playing in the EFL ‘can’t be having your cake and eating it’.
Now though, as per BBC Sport, Newport County chairman Huw Jenkins has backed the plans for teams from Wales playing in England to join the cup competition.
He said: “We can’t lose sight of the fact that we are affiliated to the EFL. We have been for many, many years, like all the clubs.
“The majority of our funding at the minute comes from the EFL, the same as Swansea, Cardiff and Wrexham.
“Obviously that has to be the number one priority, but then taking into account that for the good of Welsh football, if this could move forward in a positive way, I think everybody could be a winner out of it.”
Wrexham history in European football
If the plans are successful, Newport, Cardiff City, Swansea City and Wrexham will all have a much easier path to European football.
The Red Dragons have competed in Europe previously, first qualifying for the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in the 1972/23 season.
Their best finish in the competition came in 1975/76 when they managed to make it to the quarter-finals.
Wrexham last competed in Europe in 1995/96 but didn’t make it out of the qualifying rounds on that occasion.
