Wrexham struck gold in 2021 when the club were taken over by two Hollywood stars.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have masterminded a complete transformation of the club that has seen them earn three successive promotions from the National League into the Championship.
Off the field, plans are underway to improve the Racecourse Ground and Wrexham’s academy has been upgraded to a category three as the infrastructure continues to grow around the club.
Phil Parkinson has admitted Wrexham departures will occur this summer as the inevitable squad evolution begins. One player that could depart the club is Paul Mullin and Reynolds has been discussing the striker’s career in North Wales.

Ryan Reynolds pays tribute to ‘amazing’ Paul Mullin
Speaking on the latest episode of the Rob.Ryan.Red podcast, Reynolds has paid tribute to the career that Mullin has had at Wrexham so far.
Reynolds stated: “Paul [Mullin] is one of the greatest Wrexham legends to ever live and I mean, he hasn’t played that many seasons,
“It’s not like a full ten or fifteen year career so it’s you know, look what he’s done in such a short amount of time, it’s amazing.”
Mullin has found it hard to break into Parkinson’s side during the second half of the season and his future at the club remains in doubt.
However, the recognition for his ability and achievements at the club are beyond question and fans are still hoping he will be given a chance to prove himself once again in pre-season.
Wigan move unlikely for Paul Mullin
Wigan Athletic were interested in Mullin however, it appears that deal is now unlikely due to the League One club’s interest in another Wrexham striker.
Sam Dalby is on Wigan’s radar after he rejected the offer of a new contract at the Red Dragons and impressed on loan at Dundee United this season.
| Sam Dalby’s Dundee United record this season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Dalby | 37 | 15 | 2 |
Mullin’s reason for signing for Wrexham was to be close to his family and a move to Wigan would enable that to continue to happen in the north west of England.
However, it appears Wigan have their eyes on Dalby and so Mullin’s Wrexham adventure continues for now.
