Wrexham face another huge League One game on Tuesday night as Phil Parkinson takes his side to face Huddersfield Town.

The League One promotion race continues with Wrexham seeking to pile the pressure on Wycombe Wanderers.

Wrexham drew 0-0 with Bolton Wanderers over the weekend, unable to find the winner against the play-off chasing Trotters.

Tom O’Connor missed a golden chance for Wrexham as Phil Parkinson had to settle for a point at the STōK Cae Ras.

Wycombe Wanderers lost at Birmingham City, meaning Wrexham cut the gap to the second-placed Chairboys to two points.

Eoghan O’Connell is happy with Wrexham’s position right now but would no doubt love a win on the road on Tuesday night.

Steve Parkin on James McClean

Wrexham will go to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night with real hope of a victory.

The away form has really picked up for Wrexham of late and Huddersfield have been in patchy form of late.

This is a real chance for Wrexham to pressure Wycombe, who take on Burton Albion on Tuesday night.

Parkinson will have some tough selection decisions and one will surround James McClean.

The Wrexham captain was recently on the sidelines with a hip problem but was on the bench against Bolton.

McClean may be pushing for a start at Huddersfield and assistant boss Steve Parkin has offered an update on his situation.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Parkin has admitted that McClean is a ‘lot better’ after some ‘really tough days’ with his hip and groin problems.

Parkin feels that McClean has enjoyed some more positive training sessions now and will be contention to start against Huddersfield.

“He is a lot better,” said Parkin.

“He has had two or three really tough days where his groin and his hip have been sore, but then he has really settled and had a couple of good training sessions. I am sure he will be in the frame for selection for Tuesday night,” he added.

Sebastian Revan tough to displace in Wrexham XI

McClean may well be nearing a return to starting action but he was an unused substitute on Saturday.

Throwing the Irishman into action in such a big game may be a big ask and it’s not as if Wrexham don’t have other options.

Sebastian Revan has filled in for McClean admirably with the former Aston Villa talent really taking his chance.

Parkin praised Revan for another lively performance against Bolton and it’s difficult to take him out of the starting XI right now.

That would at least allow McClean a little more time to full recover and get himself back ready for some more big games to come, but we can maybe expect to see him come off the bench at Huddersfield.
