Supercomputer predicts disaster for Wrexham as Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac nightmare becomes a possibility

Following Wrexham’s two successive defeats, they have been handed a shocking supercomputer prediction for the rest of the 2025/26 season.

Wrexham suffered defeat to West Brom this weekend, making it two successive losses in the Championship for Phil Parkinson’s side.

It has been a challenging start to the campaign for the Red Dragons after they lost the lead late on to Southampton in the season opener, and were then dealt a heavy blow by the Baggies, who beat Wrexham 3-2 in the end.

Wrexham have had plenty of individual quality on display, with Lewis O’Brien shining against West Brom notably, but the difficulty of the Championship has sprung a few surprises for the Red Dragons.

After the difficult start to the season, the OPTA Analyst supercomputer has once again had its say on where Wrexham could finish in the Championship, and it makes for grim reading for Red Dragons supporters, Ryan Reynolds, and Rob Mac.

Wrexham predicted to finish bottom of the Championship

Wrexham have lost both of their Championship fixtures so far, and now find themselves in 20th place.

It was always going to be a challenge to face Southampton and West Brom in the opening two fixtures of the Championship season, and whilst there have been plenty of positives for Phil Parkinson to build on, the supercomputer has already made its mind up on the Red Dragons.

Following the defeat to West Brom, it has been predicted that Wrexham will finish bottom of the Championship this season, which would, of course, result in relegation back to League One.

Wrexham’s chances of relegation this season have been recorded to be 31%, whilst a top-six finish for the Red Dragons sits at just 5.34% likely.

The Red Dragons’ likelihood of slipping back down to League One has risen over 10% since the start of the season.

Relegation would be disastrous for Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac

When Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac took over at Wrexham, they made it clear that their long-term ambition for the club was reaching the Premier League.

For a non-league club to state that they hoped to reach England’s top league, it was taken with a pinch of salt, but the Wrexham owners have shown so much ambition that it could be a reality.

Reynolds and Mac still hold that same ambition after investing so much into the playing squad this summer, and whilst that investment will hold them in good stead for the future, it would have the reverse effect if they suffered relegation this season.

Under no circumstances can Wrexham afford relegated with the significant backing given to Phil Parkinson, as it could easily derail the owners’ ambitions. It is too early to press the panic button, but a reality check may be needed at the Racecourse Ground on the true difficulty of the Championship.
