Ollie Palmer has been a crucial part of Wrexham’s journey from the National League to League One.
Ollie Palmer has been on Wrexham’s books since January 24th, 2022, joining from AFC Wimbledon.
The striker was one of the first major signings of the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney era.
Wrexham paid a then-club record £300,000 to sign Palmer and it has proven to be an excellent bit of business.
His debut campaign saw the Englishman score a very impressive 15 goals in 21 National League ties for the Red Dragons.
Palmer then found the net 16 times and provided one assist in 2022/23 when Wrexham ended their 15-year wait to return to the EFL.
The 32-year-old has formed an excellent partnership with Paul Mullin in Phil Parkinson’s frontline, playing 39 League Two matches last season en route to helping the club win a second straight promotion.

Why Ollie Palmer signed new Wrexham contract
Despite previously being a key figure at the Racecourse Ground, Palmer’s long-term future was in doubt as he was due to leave the club as a free agent at the end of the 2024/25 season when his deal expired.
However, Wrexham confirmed Palmer signed a new contract earlier this week, keeping him on the Welsh outfit’s books until the summer of 2026.
Now, as per BBC Sport, Palmer has explained why he decided to put pen to paper on a fresh contract, mentioning the Wrexham owners as one of many reasons.
He said: “When I spoke to the gaffer before I signed, he told me his vision and where the club was going.
“When you add it all up and you look at the owners of the football club, the foundations, the fanbase, the community and the passion within Wrexham and the surrounding areas, why not buy into it.
“It’s proved successful so far and I’m sure the club’s got many more ambitions and things they want to achieve on and off the pitch.
“It’s a great project to be a part of.”

Ollie Palmer makes Wrexham League One claim
Palmer is once again playing an important role as Wrexham battle it out to secure a third successive promotion in 2024/25.
The centre-forward has featured in all 10 of the club’s league games this season, scoring two and assisting one.
And when discussing his new deal, Palmer also claimed that Wrexham can compete with the best in League One.
He added: “It’s only 10 games into League One but I think we’ve shown we can chuck our hat into the ring and compete with the best teams in the league,” added Palmer.
“It’s down to us to keep growing on that momentum, and we’re doing that, we work hard every single day.
“The gaffer doesn’t let anyone get complacent and we’ll be working towards our target of what we believe we can achieve this season.
“It won’t be easy because there’s a lot of big football clubs in this league, but I think we’ve shown we can compete there.”
