Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have come in for high praise from a Welcome to Wrexham star this week.
After deciding to buy the Red Dragons in 2021, Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac launched the Welcome to Wrexham documentary series on FX and Disney+.
The show has brought a huge new international audience to the club and helped the town massively.
Welcome to Wrexham’s viewing figures are impressive, and sat in the millions for each episode of the last season.
Now, one of the stars from the show has been discussing Reynolds and Mac.

Wayne Jones praises Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac
Wayne Jones was introduced to viewers during series one of the documentary.
Jones is the owner of The Turf pub, which has become a must-see destination for international fans who visit Wrexham after watching the documentary.
When they are in town, Rob and Ryan are often spotted in the pub, and Jones has now been discussing the football club’s owners with radio presenter Chris Moyles.
He said: “They’re just here to do the best for the community and the football club.
“Only yesterday, there’s a charity for a young child who’s suffering, and straight away Ryan puts, I think, £10,000 in.
“But they just do countless things like that. Ryan and Rob literally have time for everyone. If they come here, it’s always a bit scattered because they won’t say no. So, if somebody wants a picture or a signature, they’ll never say no, they’ll always stop. Just genuinely nice guys.
Welcome to Wrexham Season 5 release date
Welcome to Wrexham Season 4 aired over the summer and followed the club’s rise from League One to the Championship.
It also gave fans an insight into several key stories that played out across the 2024/25 season, including Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer losing their places in the squad.
Welcome to Wrexham Season 5 has been confirmed, and it is expected to document the Dragons as they navigate their toughest test yet, the Championship.
At present, an official release date for Season 5 has not been confirmed, though it does seem likely it will be released following the close of the current campaign in May 2026.
