Josh Adam endured a difficult spell with Wrexham after joining on a free transfer following his Manchester City exit.

After being released by the former Premier League champions, Adam signed for Wrexham in September 2024.

On the back of a brief trial period, the midfielder was handed a one-year contract with the option of a 12-month extension, which was not taken up.

Instead, Wrexham released Adam along with seven more players when the 2024/25 season came to a close. But where is he now?

Josh Adam is playing in the Czech Republic after leaving Wrexham

In July, the 21-year-old spent time on trial with Lyngby in Denmark, but a permanent move did not come to pass.

Eventually, it was confirmed in early August that Adam had moved to the Czech Republic, signing for SK Dynamo Ceske Budejovice.

SK Dynamo play their football in the country’s second tier and have had a difficult start to the season.

They sit 13th in a 16-team division after 12 matches, having won three, drawn two and lost seven.

Adam, for his part, has made seven appearances since signing but has only started one match.

That outing came on October 3 and saw the former Wrexham man provide an assist in a 2-0 victory.

Phil Parkinson thought highly of Josh Adam

Adam trained with Erling Haaland and Phil Foden during his time at Manchester City, but never made his senior debut for Pep Guardiola’s side.

His record at youth level was solid, scoring 16 and assisting 10 for the Sky Blues’ U18s.

A move to League One Wrexham looked to be just what he needed to get his career back on track, with Phil Parkinson praising Adam after his debut.

Following a 1-1 draw with Port Vale in the EFL Trophy, he said: “Josh Adam’s first game for us, he showed real quality, I thought, at times.

“This is a big old pitch to make your debut on and I thought he was excellent.”

The Scotsman featured on one more occasion for Wrexham, playing 65 minutes versus Crewe Alexandra on December 10, 2024.
