Wrexham won promotion on Saturday evening and Sam Smith was the star of the show in their 3-0 win.
Sam Smith became Wrexham’s record signing after completing a seven-figure transfer from Reading on January 31.
The striker was brought in to add some much-needed goals to he club’s front line as they eyed a third promotion on the spin.
It certainly worked out as Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds planned when they decided to go big in the winter window.
Wrexham made history with promotion to the Championship, and the seven-goal centre-forward was a key figure in the Charlton Athletic hammering.

Sam Smith on joining Wrexham
Smith and Jay Rodriguez replaced Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer as the club’s primary strikers in the last three months of 2024/25.
It was a bold move that paid off, and Mullin’s gesture to Smith after promotion was confirmed suggests there are no hard feelings.
Now, after helping Wrexham book their place in the Championship, Smith has been discussing his transfer and the reaction he has had, as per Leader Live.
He said: “I’m just grateful for the response I’ve had since I’ve come in.
“The support has been incredible. The whole community coming together the way it has done is something I noticed straight away, and to be a part of it has been amazing.”
