Ollie Palmer is quickly cementing himself as a fan favourite at his new club after leaving Wrexham.

Wrexham signed Ollie Palmer in a £300,000 deal from AFC Wimbledon in January 2022.

He formed a great connection with fellow striker Paul Mullin almost instantly.

However, the strike force Wrexham fans fell in love with during the early years of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s ownership was quickly dismantled this summer.

Mullin joined Wigan Athletic on loan, while Palmer has moved to Swindon Town on a permanent basis.

Swindon Town fans praise Wrexham legend Ollie Palmer

Palmer scored for Swindon on Saturday, September 27, netting his first league goal in a 2-0 win.

Now, fans of the League Two outfit have taken to social media to praise the former Wrexham man, which will no doubt please the Dragons faithful.

One fan wrote: “A fantastic performance all over the pitch today. I think Palmer deserves special credit; he is such a deluxe big man. I am very close to allowing myself to believe we are just a good team this year.”

A second wrote: “From what I’ve seen of Palmer so far this season like how’s he’s done good at holding the ball whilst others run pass and then pass. He’s someone we needed up front to help create chances also glad he’s scored today.”

“Palmer better some lovely touches,” a third Swindon fan added.

A fourth commented on the striker, “Deserved [his goal], ——- brilliant today.”

While another added: “Congrats Ollie!” and another echoed, “Well done, Ollie.”

Ollie Palmer could win another promotion

Palmer now has four goals in all competitions this season, already one more than he managed across the entirety of 2024/25.

He was in top form for Ian Holloway’s men on Saturday as they look to push on and win promotion from the fourth tier.

After the weekend’s action, Swindon are second in League Two with by far and away the best attack (21 goals scored).

They are one point off league leaders Walsall after winning seven and losing three of their opening 10 matches.

If they do go up, Palmer will have earned four promotions in a row, which is an incredible achievement.
