One Wrexham player sent out on loan this summer is expected to endure a tough 2025/26 season.
The Red Dragons have had a mixed start to their campaign, with a win over Hull City in the Carabao Cup coming either side of Championship defeats.
It means that going into Wrexham vs Sheffield Wednesday, Phil Parkinson’s side are 19th in the second tier.

After a tough start and a 3-2 defeat to West Brom last time out, Opta’s supercomputer predicts Wrexham will suffer relegation.
Meanwhile, another Dragons ace not currently plying his trade at the Racecourse Ground could also suffer relegation this term.

Wrexham loanee Modou Faal could be relegated
Modou Faal joined Wrexham last summer from West Brom in what was, at the time, a record deal.
However, the striker saw very little game time in League One last season.
So, after an influx of new attackers this summer, it came as little surprise when Wrexham sent Faal on loan to Port Vale.
Going into the next round of fixtures, Port Vale sit 19th in the third tier after two draws and two defeats from their first four outings.
Now, Opta’s League One predicted table is backing Faal’s new club to finish 2025/26 with 50.37 points, which would leave them in 22nd place and thus, relegated to League Two.
At the top end of the third tier, after Ryan Reynolds mocked Stockport County and two more teams this week, Wrexham’s old rivals are predicted to secure top spot in the division.

Modou Faal praised after first goal for Port Vale
Since leaving Wrexham, Faal has made three appearances for his new side.
He has only notched 26 minutes in League One across two outings from the bench.
But Faal was praised by manager Darren Moore after he found the back of the net in a 1-0 win over Blackpool in the Carabao Cup earlier this week.
Moore: “He scored off a set-piece, but Mo’s got a wonderful aerial presence as well as being good on the floor. He’s a real awkward customer to deal with.
“He’s got size, he’s got mobility, he’s an aerial threat, but his feet are really good as well.”
