Wrexham have exceeded expectations in the 2024/25 season, with a number of players most certainly in contention to win the Player of the Season award.
Back on the opening day of the campaign, Humphrey Ker wanted a statute of Phil Parkinon built if Wrexham finished any higher than mid-table.
Now, with just four games of the season to go, the Red Dragons are currently on course to win promotion from League One.
Wrexham are favourites to finish second, despite the fact they dropped two huge points against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
The 0-0 draw was a tough watch, with the Welsh outfit failing to have a single shot on target, leaving Wrexham fans angry.
It was not all negative, however, with another excellent showing from the club’s backline ensuring yet another clean sheet.

Who should win Wrexham Player of the Season
Eoghan O’Connell shone for Wrexham versus Wigan, and despite some questionable displays earlier this year, he’s largely been superb in 2024/25.
However, while O’Connell has been key to the Red Dragons’ conceding so few goals, another player also deserves a lot of credit.
That man is Arthur Okonkwo, who has kept the most clean sheets of any goalkeeper in League One this term.
Okonkwo signed on a permanent basis from Arsenal over the summer after an initial loan spell in 2023/24.
Now, despite injury keeping him out of eight league games, The Athletic are tipping the shot-stopper to take home the Wrexham Player of the Season award.
They wrote: “The Athletic suggests Okonkwo is the man to beat, with Cleworth, O’Connell and Rathbone completing an impressive top four.”
On the ex-Gunner, Parkinson was quoted this week as saying: “Since coming back in, he’s been excellent. He’d be the first to admit that the work ethic of the team and the structure are the most important parts of the clean sheets.”

Arthur Okonkwo could end Paul Mullin Wrexham run
No matter if it’s Okonkwo or any of the other players mentioned above, there will be a new Player of the Season crowned in 2025.
As you would expect, star striker Paul Mullin has clinched the award in the previous three seasons, becoming the first player to do so in the club’s history.
| Player | Multiple-time Wrexham Player of the Season winners |
| Paul Mullin | 2022,2023,2024 |
| Mike Williams | 1986, 1987 |
| Kevin Russell | 1988, 1989 |
| Gary Bennett | 1994, 1995 |
| Luke Young | 2020, 2021 |
With just three goals to his name and no minutes since late January, however, there is no chance of Mullin making it four in a row this season.
