Wrexham have only won one of the first five Championship games this season, but it isn’t all bad news for Phil Parkinson.

The international break may have come at the worst possible time for Wrexham.

Before the break, Wrexham beat Millwall 2-0 to pick up a first win of the Championship season.

The international break swept up any momentum from that victory, as Wrexham returned with a defeat.

QPR beat Wrexham 3-1 on Saturday afternoon, exploiting some seriously poor defending from Phil Parkinson’s side.

Wrexham alongside Liverpool in one statistic

Parkinson is under a little pressure after such a disappointing start to the season, especially after Wrexham splashed the cash on signings over the summer.

Wrexham have been so poor defensively, which is pretty uncharacteristic of a Parkinson side.

Kieffer Moore has been on fire at the other end of the pitch, though, bagging four goals in his first five Championship appearances for Wrexham.

Moore has certainly played his part in Wrexham being one of just eight teams to have scored in every game so far this season in all competitions.

From the 92 teams, spanning the Premier League to League Two, Wrexham are among a handful of teams to have found the net in every game, as noted by Playmaker Stats on X.

Premier League champions Liverpool are also included, alongside fellow top-flight side Brentford.

Three other Championship clubs are also able to boast that impressive goalscoring record, with Derby County, Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers alongside Wrexham.

Huddersfield Town are the only League One representative, while Gillingham’s strong start to the League Two campaign sees them feature as well.

Wrexham attack gives Phil Parkinson hope for an upturn in results

Wrexham have major problems at the back, but being able to score consistently is not easy at this level.

Parkinson’s side have notched eight goals in five games, which is actually just one short of Middlesbrough and Stoke City, who occupy the top two places.

The problem comes at the other end of the pitch, as Wrexham have already leaked 10 goals in just five games.

Moore has proven to be a consistent source of goals, while the likes of Josh Windass and Nathan Broadhead should thrive moving forward.

Wrexham do still need to improve going forward and offer more variety outside of crosses into the box at times, but Parkinson will believe that Wrexham can turn a corner if he can solve the defensive woes.
